A couple of weeks ago we had one of our regular trips down to Melbourne. The main aim is always to catch up with our parents and friends, but this one was also timed to catch a football game, so hubster could watch his beloved Richmond Tigers.
We stayed at the wonderful Crown Promenade, where the service was perfection. Friendly yet professional. Loved it.
A fancy lobby is always a good start.
On Saturday we had breakfast with my family …

— Jacket from Katies (similar), scarf from Sussan, top from French Connection (no longer available), jeans from Witchery, boots from Country Road and bag from Mimco —
… had a ball at the Crown Metropol’s pool (the Promenade’s pool was being renovated) …

… and even fitted in some table tennis in the lobby!

While hubster took the kids to the football at the MCG (sadly Richmond lost) …

… I got all dolled up …

— Dress from Witchery, necklace from Sussan (no longer available), tights from Myer, boots from Country Road (no longer available) and bag from Mimco —
… for a fancy lunch with the girls. These are my gorgeous blogging buddies (from left) Anna from Colour Me Anna, Belinda from Gallerie B and Vanessa from Style and Shenanigans. We had a lovely afternoon at Bistro Guillaume at Crown eating fabulous food and chat chat chatting.

Next day Melbourne turned on one of its trademark blue sky autumn days and I went to church to listen to the ever-inspiring Dr Macnab …
— Scarf from Country Road (no longer available), top from Portmans, jeans from Witchery, boots from Country Road and bag from Mimco —
… and we lunched with hubster’s parents at Hophaus at Southbank …

… followed by an ice-cream in the sunshine for the kids.

As you can see I packed pretty light. I wore the first outfit and just packed the second outfit and the extra top and scarf. I usually like to have a few options, but this worked really well.
Do you pack light for a weekend away or do you prefer to have lots of options?
