13 Awesome School Holiday DestinationsImage via Down That Little Lane

So how were your school holidays? Go somewhere exciting? Check out some of the amazing memories these guys have been making –

1.   Could you wrangle 4 kids on your own? Here’s how Seana did it in Cairns.

2.   It was only Robyn’s second camping trip, but they seem like experts to me, who has yet to try camping with the kids.

3.   Danielle had a There’s Something About Mary moment in Central Australia. Fortunately it didn’t make it into her super cool road movie.

4.   Insert bookmark here for the perfect family Paris pad.

5.   Find out why Tam & Sam think Central Queensland is definitely worth an 8 hour car journey.

6.   So jealous of Ali, who went to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter!

7.   Simone bumped into Jack Johnson in Hawaii.

8.   Kirsten has taken her family to Disneyland twice and has some invaluable inside knowledge.

9.   Is 3 days on Hamilton Island enough? Chantelle made the most of them!

10.   What Tasmanian road trip is complete without resident rabbits in your holiday garden? Not Kimba’s!

11.   Would you book a resort or a villa in Bali? Rene looks at the pros and cons.

12.   An apartment plus resort facilities equals winning, don’t you think? Especially when it’s in Palm Cove.

Check this out:  Where does milk come from? Farmstays with a dairy focus.

13.   If swimming with dolphins is on your bucket list, then Kaikoura is for you.

Do you have any trips planned for the Christmas hols? Or are you leaving it until the last minute like I seem to be?

  • Kirsten and co.

Great round up of posts there! Thanks so much for the inclusion. I’m off now to check out number 4!

  • Kirralee @ Escape With Kids

You’re very welcome Kirsten! I’m hoping to put your Disneyland posts to good use in a potential trip there next year.

The Paris apartment looks perfect to me! Great location in the Marais, spacious, beautiful windows overlooking lovely streets and I believe it’s owned by an Aussie who has a collection of them to choose from.

  • The Plumbette

What a great list of holiday inspiration for families with kids. 🙂

    • Kirralee @ Escape With Kids

Thanks so much Bec. BTW I linked to your Scarf Kimono post in my Konnichiwa Kimono! post today. Hope that’s ok xx

  • Vanessa

Thanks for the shout out Kirralee! I’ll be reading the rest of the links too, love holiday inspo! x

    • Kirralee @ Escape With Kids

You’re welcome Vanessa. Quite a few of them have gone straight to my bucket list!

  • Seana Smith

Thanks Kirralee and this is a really great idea. I’ll be checking them out and getting great ideas for future trips. Am thinking NSW for January… not sure where….

    • Kirralee @ Escape With Kids

Can’t wait to hear where you get to. Kimba Likes did a great post on Nelson Bay if that area appeals at all http://kimbalikes.com/what-to-do-in-nelson-bay/

  • Together we roam

Group hug! Thanks for mentioning me. I shall bookmark and get through these great trips. xo

PS: I turned of DISQUS it was sooooo slow. Have you had any problems lately?

    • Kirralee @ Escape With Kids

Not a problem Rene. Disqus has been behaving itself, but I have heard of others having trouble with it.

  • Beachstylemum

What a fantastic list!! So many great stories and places. We have two mini breaks planned for the Xmas hols – 3 nights in Melbourne visiting family in Brighton and then a little road trip down to Mollymook for some south coast beach time. Can’t wait xo

    • Kirralee @ Escape With Kids

We too will be heading south of the border at Christmas time Wendy. Will be lovely to be in Melbourne again.

  • Seana Smith

PS just a quick note, Robyn’s link isn’t working

    • Kirralee @ Escape With Kids

Thanks for letting me know Seana. Fixed up now x

  • Amanda Kendle

Ooh, lots of good ideas there! I have zero plans for the long summer school holidays but I desperately need to create some – this last two-week break was too long for me and Mr4 to stay at home – we do much better when we’re away somewhere new!

    • Kirralee @ Escape With Kids

I know what you mean Amanda. The previous two school hols we were away, so I was quite happy to be home for the last ones. To be honest I think we all needed a rest! But I’m not sure I could manage the looooong summer ones completely at home!

  • Lilybett and Boy

I don’t think I’m brave enough to click on half these links. It’ll wake the travel monster and my bank account just couldn’t cope.

    • Kirralee @ Escape With Kids

Money does tend to get in the way sometimes doesn’t it!

  • Guest

Thanks for the gorgeous link. There’s so many great ideas there!

  • Fairlie

Thanks for the mention, Kirralee, and some great inspiration links there!

    • Kirralee @ Escape With Kids

      You’re most welcome Megan x

  • Sonia@ LIfe Love and Hiccups

I think I will most probably be winging it, but am hopeful of doing a little fruit picking with the squids 😉 xx

    • Kirralee @ Escape With Kids

Ooh fruit picking sounds fun! I’ve always meant to take the kids to one of those berry farms. Can’t wait to hear about it Sonia.

  • The Hungry Mum

we spent our break at Tokyo Disney. All the amazing! Come Chrissy hols I’m sure we will be hangin’ round the house… #sameSame #notReally

    • Kirralee @ Escape With Kids

I’ve just been reading your posts on Japan and Tokyo Disney. So much awesome!! What lucky ducks you are. Can’t wait for our Disney Extravaganza next year!

  • Kimba from Kimba Likes

Thanks for including our Tasmanian getaway! Next holiday is just a few days at Eagle Reach at Christmas, and we’re staycationing at home this year!

    • Kirralee @ Escape With Kids

Most welcome Miss Kimba! Is that this Eagle Reach – http://www.eaglereach.com.au/ ? That looks absolutely amazing! Would love to hear all about it.

      • Kimba Likes

Yep that’s the one! It’s a good mix between relaxation and activity. Having our own spa overlooking the valley is a winner too. Plus we can self cater or book a table. Love that!

        • Kirralee @ Escape With Kids

          Heavenly!

  • Phoebe Thomas

some dream destinations here! great idea to put together a useful list like this. #wanderlust

    • Kirralee @ Escape With Kids

So many places to put on the wishlist aren’t there Phoebe!

  • KidBucketList

I’ve booked the tickets and first 3 days for our upcoming USA trip. 20+ days yet to plan for. I’m a little “fly by the seat of my pants” type of traveller.

    • Kirralee @ Escape With Kids

That’s awesome! We’re off to the US October next year and I’m likely to have every part of it booked before the end of this year!! Love that we all love travelling but do it in different ways x

  • Talia Carbis

Can’t wait to check out some of these links. 🙂 I’m having surgery just before Christmas, so no travel for us this year! Our next time is booked for mid April though, so we have something to look forward to!

And thanks for linking up with Wanderlust! Our next link up will be on the 3rd December, so mark it in your diary!!

    • Kirralee @ Escape With Kids

Best wishes for your surgery Talia. I hope all goes well xx

  • Nicole Avery

What a fabulous collection of family travel posts! We aren’t travelling to far these school holidays.
